1. Minimum shelf life remaining when food products arrive in the destination country or are sold in the country
According to Article 3 of Order of 27 Rajab 1440 setting the minimum shelf life of imported products subject to the obligation to indicate an expiration date, the minimum shelf life at importation must be as follows [1]:

Art. 2. — For the purposes of this decree, we mean:
Minimum shelf life: the period between the date of inspection of the product at the point of unloading until the expiry date, mentioned on the labeling.
Shelf life: the period from the date of manufacture or packaging until the expiration date.
Art. 3. — Products whose shelf life is less than or equal to one year must have, on the inspection date, a minimum shelf life equal to, at least, 70% of their shelf life, expressed in months and in days.
Products with a shelf life of more than one year must have, on the date of inspection, a minimum shelf life equal to, at least, 50% of their shelf life, expressed in months and days.
With “inspection” meaning inspection of the product at the point of landing upon importation.
- By law, products with a shelf life of less or equal to one year must have at least 70% of their shelf life left (expressed in months and in days) at the time of importation.
- Products with a shelf life of more than one year must have at least 50% of their shelf life left (expressed in months and in days) at the time of importation.
