Additionally, it provides the food products that belong to this food category along with the definition and specific information on each of these types of food products.

2.1 Category Name & Definition

Food - products of animal, vegetable, microbiological, mineral, artificial, or biotechnological origin in natural, processed, or processed form, which are intended for human consumption, including specialized food products, packaged drinking water (including natural mineral water, blended drinking water, processed drinking water, natural drinking water, drinking water for baby food, artificially mineralized drinking water), alcoholic products (including beer and beer-based drinks), soft drinks, biologically active food supplements (BAA), chewing gum, starter cultures and starter cultures of microorganisms, yeast, food additives and flavors, as well as food raw materials [1].

As of the date of this report, some categories (such as the categories below) do not have a special Technical Regulation applicable to them and are included in the General Foods category for labeling purposes:

  • French fries
  • Frozen fried Potato specialties (ex: pommes noisettes)
  • Frozen & fried Cheese appetizer (such as fried cheddar bites)
