8. Safety Parameters

Food Supplements
Thailand

This section provides the safety parameters (microbiological, contaminants, heavy metals, pesticides, veterinary residues, and food contact materials). 

8.1 Microbiological Standards

Testing criteria shall follow product standards set in the Notification of Ministry of Public Health No. 293 [1]:

• Pathogenic bacteria shall be detected not more than the limits that the Food and Drug Administration prescribed according to the approval of the Food Committee;
• Escherichia coli shall be below 3 per 1 g of food by the Most Probable Number method;
• Microbial toxins shall be below the limit prescribed in the Notification of the Ministry of Public Health.

8.2 Contaminants and Heavy Metals

Shall be below the limit prescribed in the Notification of Ministry of Public Health Health No. 293 [1].

8.3 Pesticides

Shall be below the limit prescribed in the Notification of Ministry of Public Health Health No. 293 [1].

8.4 Veterinary Standards

Shall be below the limit prescribed in the Notification of Ministry of Public Health Health No. 293 [1].
