8.3 Pesticides

Pesticide is regulated under the Ministry of Agriculture and it is only regulated for fresh foodstuffs (e.g. fresh vegetables, fruit, and tea) by the Ministry of Agriculture Regulation No. 53 Year 2018 on Safety and Quality of Fresh Agriculture Product [4].

However, related to pesticide residue in processed food, the manufacturer or importer should be compliant with the Guidelines for the residue mitigation of ethylene oxide (EtO), 2,6- diisopropylnaphthalene (2,6-DIPN), and 9,10-anthraquinone (9,10-AQ) in Head of BPOM Decree No. 229 Year 2022 [5].
