This section provides information on regulations on advertising and if there are any restrictions or approval processes.
7.1 Applicable Advertising Regulation
Infant, Follow-up, and Young Child Formula [1]
- Must be accompanied by product name (as regulated) and its designated use (e.g. age), as per Article 11.
- Must contain approved information (as registered), as per Article 3.
- When it is with a contest need to be accompanied by words to show terms and condition, as per Article 7.
When the product has a specific warning, it needs to be accompanied by a sentence referring to the warning on the label, as per Article 9.
7.2 Specific Restrictions on Advertising

- Can be advertised only on media specific to health which circulation is only to health practitioners, not the general public for IF and FUF, as per Article 12. YCF can be advertised in public media.
- The word "natural" can only be used when a product is not being mixed or no changes in the content
- The word "pure" or "100%" can only be used when the product is not being mixed
- The word "from... (followed by a substance name)" can only be used when the substance is not less than 50%
- The word "with" can only be used when the substance is one of the main raw material
- The word "fresh" can only be used when the product is not made from intermediate raw material that needs further processing unless it is shown in the form of an expression
- The word "original" cannot be used when the product is added with other substances that blur its origin such as using flavoring agents.
- Presenting a food product as a drug is not allowed
- Use of pictures/illustrations of a national hero, or historical monuments in an improper way, is not allowed.
- Quote the advice or recommendation by a Health Care Professional, Laboratory Person, Government, Professional Organization, Religious Figure, Teacher, or Public Officials, is not allowed.
