This section provides information on the importation process (shipment, customs, licenses required, and test requirements).
7.1 Shipment Declaration
There are no importation requirements specific to “Foods supplements”. It should comply with the requirements outlined in Section 7.1 of the “General Foods” guidebook for Thailand.
7.2 Customs Procedure

7.3 Manufacturing License
There are no Manufacturing License requirements specific to “Foods supplements”. Please refer to the manufacturing license requirements in Section 7.3 of the “General Foods” guidebook for Thailand.
7.4 Test for Importation
Testing criteria shall follow product standards in Notification of Ministry of Public Health No. 293 [1]:
- Pathogenic bacteria shall be detected not more than the limits that the Food and Drug Administration prescribed according to the approval of the Food Committee;
- Escherichia coli shall be detected less than 3 per 1 g of food by the Most Probable Number method;
- Microbial toxins, pesticide residues, other toxic substances, contaminants, or veterinary drug residues shall be detected not more than the limit prescribed in the Notification of the Ministry of Public Health for those in each case;
- Vitamin or mineral content shall not be less than 15% and not exceed the maximum specified in the nutrient list for Thai Recommended Daily Intakes for the age of 6 years and up (Thai RDI) for food supplements whose purpose is to give vitamins or minerals. For vitamins or minerals that are not prescribed, the Food and Drug Administration shall prescribe them according to the approval of the Food Committee.
