6.4.1 Standard/Rules for Manufacturing Site

At present, standards/rules for manufacturing sites are not in place. Requirements in relation to manufacturing premises are described under the Food (Hygiene) Regulations 2011 [2]:

• Location of the food establishment 
• Requirements for building in which food establishments are located 
• Equipment and utensils

And those described parameters of the Food Hygiene Regulations are limited to basic food safety requirements. The regulations did not mention GMP and HACCP requirements. Specific requirements for the manufacturing of food additives are not addressed at all.
