5.1 Overview of Claims

5.1.2 List of Prohibited Claims

It is prohibited to include in the product name any names of components that are not a part of the product composition. [1]

The use of terms “dietary”, “therapeutical”, “preventive”, “children’s”, “sportive”, “probiotic”, "environmentally friendly", “organic” or their equivalents in product names can only be performed after the claimed properties have been assessed and proven. This is done on a case-by-case basis. [2]

The use of other terms that do not have any scientific justification is not permitted. [2]

5.2 Nutritional Claims

5.2.1 Permitted Claims

The following voluntary claims are allowed subject to certain conditions [1]:

5.2.2 Nutritional Claim Registration

5.3 Health Claims

Claims, such as “for diabetics”, “for children”, and “dietary” are considered health claims. [1]

5.3.1 Permitted Claims

Claims like “for diabetics”, “for children”, and “dietary” are permitted but are subject to approval by the Ministry of Health. [1]

5.3.2 Health Claim Registration

Claims, such as “for diabetics”, “for children”, and “dietary” must be approved by the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan on a case-by-case basis. This is usually done during registration/certification. [1]
