Understanding that gluten-free foods:

a) consist of, or are made solely from, one or more ingredients that do not contain wheat (i.e., all species of Triticum), rye, barley, oats or their hybrid varieties, and whose gluten content does not exceeds 20 mg/kg in total, measured in food as sold or distributed to the consumer;

[1]

Note: “TACC” is the abbreviation in Spanish of T; wheat, A: oats, C: Rye, C: Barley.

Caffeine Statements

If ingredients containing caffeine, or caffeine as such, have been added to a food, they must appear in the list of ingredients with their specific name. Therefore, when a food intended to be consumed as is contains caffeine, regardless of its source, in a proportion of 100 to 200 mg per daily serving, the following warning must appear on the label:

"High caffeine content." / "Alto contenido de cafeína".

Only products that do not contain more than 200 mg of caffeine per daily serving will be accepted for registration as foods.

In all cases, the label must indicate the maximum daily consumption portion of the product, also indicating the following text:

“The recommended daily consumption of caffeine per person is 200 mg.” [1] / “El consumo diario recomendado de cafeína por persona es de 200 mg”.
