4. Labeling Requirements

This section provides information on labeling requirements and the label approval process.

4.1 Mandatory Labeling Parameters

General Feed

All feeds shall declare [1]: 

1. Name and category of product
2. Ingredients
3. Composition (%)
4. Nutrition information
5. Use instruction
6. Production and expiry date
7. Batch number
8. Net weight
9. Targeted animals
10. Storage
11. Warning and precaution
12. Producer's establishment information (including country of origin) with contact details (e.g. phone or email)
13. Importer's company information with contact details
14. Explanatory phase on the use must be written in a statement:
    1. "For animal consumption" 
    2. "For use in feed processing plant"
    3. If the product can be used in both ways, the two phrases are shown on the packaging label, with the two modes of use being explained separately on the label.
15. The statement: "Registered in the Ministry of Agriculture of Jordan under number xxxxx". 

Category

The category “Feed Additive Mixture” should comply with Section 4.1 on “General Feed” above. Additionally, the below applies: 

The name of the category of product is "Feed Additive Mixture" and the statement as explanatory phases on use will be: "for use in feed processing plant" or equivalent (to avoid confusion with feed for direct consumption) [1].

“Feed Premix” should comply with Section 4.1 on “General Feed” above.

4.2 Languages

English and/or Arabic [1].

4.3 Mandatory Information on Stickers

It is acceptable to capture mandatory labeling information on additional stickers provided that the sticker is legible, irremovable and doesn't cover any information on the original label. All information in all languages shall be identical [1].

4.4 Product Legal Name

There is no product legal name for the overall category of "General Feed". Refer to the below section for info on product legal names for specific products.

There are no product-specific labeling statements for the overall category of “General Feed”. Refer to the below category and product-specific labeling statements.

4.6 Authority Approval

General Feed

The product label needs to be approved by the authority - Ministry of Agriculture, Directorate of Livestock - during the registration process (please refer to Section 6 on registration requirements) [2].

Category

The category of “Feed Additive Mixture” should comply with the above requirements in Section 4.6 on authority approval for “General Feed”.

Product

“Feed Premix” should comply with the above requirements in Section 4.6 on authority approval for “General Feed”. 

4.7 Additional Notes on Labeling

Any additional information other than those required by the regulation shall be assessed by the technical committee (usually based on international regulations).
