Special Purpose Food (Regulation 388, Malaysia Food Regulation) [1]
Definition
"Special purpose food" means a food named or described as particularly suitable for consumption by persons requiring special nutritional needs and includes infant formula, follow-up formula, canned food for infants and children, processed cereal-based foods for infants and young children, low-energy food, formula dietary food, special dietary foods with low sodium content including salt substitute.
