Definition
Donuts are snack foods made from deep-fried sweet dough usually circular with a hole in the middle but also made in the shape of balls, fingers, and stars. These may be filled with jam.
Specifications
Types include hot donuts, cold donuts, sugared donuts, plain donuts, and cake donuts. These shall contain:
- Moisture: not more than 20 percent
- Total ash: not more than 23 percent
- Ash: not more than 1.5 percent
