Frozen cheese snack

Cheese is an ingredient produced from milk. In the production of cheese, a type of enzyme is commonly used and known as rennet. Rennet can be obtained from the stomach lining of calves or pigs [1]. For halal application, the rennet needs to be evaluated and needs to be halal.

The enzyme used as a mixture in the manufacture of the cheese needs to be obtained from plants or fungi or animals that are halal [1,2].

The flavors used to make the product may be chemically derived from animals or plants. The flavors need to be derived from plants or animals that are halal.
