Ministry of food and drug safety (MFDS) [1]

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety is the primary regulatory agency for foods including imported foods in South Korea. It is responsible for food safety including imported food, promoting a healthy diet and safe food consumption, food labeling system, food formulation, food certificate verification, health functional food registration, overseas factory inspection, and registration.

Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency (APQA) [2]

Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency belongs to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs in South Korea. It is responsible for export and import quarantine and inspection regarding animals and livestock products including Milk Products.

National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service (NAPQS) (under the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs -MAFRA [3]

NAPQS controls declaration and compliance related to country-of-origin labeling, GMO foods, and organic products on the market.
